Texas dust devils are on a whole other level.

Having lived most of my life in Northwest Texas, I have seen many dust devils. Most have been small and would never be mistaken for a tornado.

When I was a kid, I wouldn’t hesitate to run through one. I did it quite a few times. The dirt would sting a little as it whipped across my body, but they’re typically harmless.

But every now and then I will see one that would have freaked me out had it been a cloudy day. Those bad boys can get very tall and wide and look just like a tornado.

No one would have mistaken the dust devil in the below video for a tornado, but I will say that the winds were intense. Watch as it quickly forms, kicking up dust and debris while heading straight for the guy filming it.

My best guess is that it isn’t our cameraman’s first brush with a dust devil as he bravely stands his ground. Kudos to my man for sharing the video. It brought back a lot of memories.
