Big In Texas: Where To See The Biggest Waterfall In Texas
I have a fascination for waterfalls.
Water Falls
Not only am I fan of natures waterfalls, I have small backyard waterfall and three waterfalls (two of them enormous) in my Halloween Park. I also think of my time driving the Calico Mine Ride train through the underground waterfalls at Knott's Berry Farm as some of my favorite times. I just love the natural (and unnatural) flow of water for whatever reason.
Nature's Glory
Of course waterfalls occurring naturally are the best. You can see both beauty and fury in their power. The fine mist that rise up from the larger falls is just plain magical. It's with all of these things in mind that we continue our trek to find the biggest things in the Lone Star State.
The Biggest
Let's get to it, if you're looking for the biggest waterfall in Texas you might be a little disappointed. Capote Falls has a drop of 150 feet, but it is on private property and not accessible to the general public. It is located in Marfa, Texas. If you actually want to visit some falls, then coming at #2 it's Madrid Falls which is Northwest of Terlingua, Texas. According to online visitors, these falls are hard to get to, but worth it.
Runners Up
Let's knock out one more. As I mentioned, the *power* of some waterfalls can be the most impressive thing about them. The Dolan Falls actually push the most water through. You can find these falls churning away north of Del Rio. They also seem to be the most accusable and protected of the places mentioned.
