Will Ferrell, the actor responsible for Ron Burgundy, Ricky Bobby and Chaz in Wedding Crashers, was taken out of an NBA game last night by security for hitting a cheerleader in the face with a basketball. It happened Wednesday night during a Pelicans-Lakers game.

The incident was staged. It was all part of a shoot that took place at halftime during the game at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Ferrell was apparently attempting a half-court shot with the cheerleaders lined up next to him. Instead of taking a shot at the hoop, he launched the ball directly into the face of one of the cheerleaders.

The staged event is all part of a film shoot for the upcoming movie "Daddy's Home," which also stars Mark Wahlberg, Hannibal Buress, and Linda Cardellini. No release date has been set by the studios yet.
