Tyler came together yesterday afternoon (October 14th) for the annual Turn Tyler Pink event in downtown. It was a brisk and windy afternoon on the square in downtown Tyler with hundreds of people showing up dressed head to toe in pink! They were there showing their support for those that have been affected by breast cancer and for knowledge about this horrible disease. The event was organized by the Tyler Fire Department who received support from the Malakoff Fire Department, by bringing in some fire safety tip delivering clowns, and the Van Fire Department who brought in the safety house.

The afternoon was topped off with an emotional speech from this years' honored breast cancer survivor and spectators were also entertained by the John Tyler drum line, an orchestra group and the Moore Middle School cheerleaders.

Mix 93-1 was a part of this community event and we had a great time meeting everyone and we even had some time to snap pics of all things pink at Turn Tyler Pink! Check this website to see how Turn Tyler Pink came to be and to learn more about Tyler Fire Fighters C.A.R.E. (Cancer Awareness & Relief Effort).

There was quite a bit of pink on square and here's a little bit of what we saw!
