Two suspects believed to be involved in a high-speed chase Monday night were, according to KLTV 7, taken into custody after the vehicle involved in the chase was spotted at a Residence Inn in South Tyler.

After confirming the vehicle was in fact used in the chase, authorities evacuated a portion of the hotel and at about 2 p.m. the suspects, a male and a female, were apprehended and detained for questioning at the Smith County Sheriff's department. Charges from the Monday night chase could include attempted capital murder, said Sheriff Larry Smith.

Additionally, Smith said methamphetamine as well as assault weapons were discovered in one of the two vehicles belonging to the suspects.
