Tyler Joins National Drug Takeback Day Saturday

Saturday is the day to dump your old medications.

It's another Drug Takeback Day that runs across the country, and several local sites will provide the opportunity to get rid of unwanted, expired, and unused prescription meds.

The goal is to keep the drugs off the streets and cut down on prescription drug abuse, and keep the pills out of landfills and streams too.  The Drug Enforcement Administration will pick up the collections, and properly dispose of them.

If you have pills bottles to drop off, you can do that tomorrow between 10am and 2pm with the Tyler Police Department at the UT Health Science Center in Tyler, 11937 US Highway 271.

UT Tyler police will also be collecting the drugs at the University Service Center on RM 125.
