Two East Texas high school students were taken into juvenile custody after admitting to a bomb hoax at their school in attempt to get out early because of the cold weather.

Gladewater police report a note was found in the hallway of the high school indicating a bomb would detonate at 1p.m. Jan. 15.

School resource officers working with school administrators were able to locate the students responsible for the bomb threat and both were charged with making a False Alarm/Report, a State Jail Felony.

A press release from Gladewater Police Chief Farrell Alexander stated, “The Gladewater Police Department is committed to the safety and security of the children of our community, and will aggressively pursue and prosecute any individual who may wish to endanger our children and threaten our schools."
