Today is National Aviation Day — Here’s How I Celebrated It Early Over the Weekend

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt established Aug. 19 as National Aviation Day since it is the birth date of Orville Wright.  You may remember that Orville piloted the first human powered flight on Dec. 17, 1903.  Yesterday I visited, by airplane, what is designated as the oldest private air field in Texas.

Mineola Wisener Field in Mineola, Texas claims the status as oldest private airfield in Texas, established in 1917.  Here are a few pictures from the visit yesterday.
