Most people in Texas say candy corn is their favorite Halloween candy. Do you agree?

Wait until you see what our neighbors in Louisiana are munching on.

Chocolate doesn't get all the love this time of year. In fact, there are several states (including Texas) that would pick Airheads and Skittles over chocolate. That's weird to me! What's Halloween without Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?

Texans say candy corn is their favorites, according to Mashable, which compiled a state-by-state list of what rules taste buds at Halloween.

I'll admit, I'm outnumbered at my house. Mama loves chocolate, and my girls salivate over candy corn and would choose them first any day.

So, I buy the candy corns and start to mix in peanuts to make that awesome and incredibly addictive Halloween trail mix that is probably also sitting on your desk at work, and the girls scream, "No!"

Just plain candy corn for them. No protein. All sugar. OK fine, it's only for three weeks during October. And the six months after Halloween that it takes to consume all of the candy corn we've purchased on clearance.

The favorite Halloween candy in Louisiana is Swedish Fish. Pennsylvania picked those as their favorite Halloween candy, too.

Do you like 'em? It's a gummy bear meets jelly bean, and tastes like fruit. It might hit you with a lesser sugar rush than candy corn.

'Tis the season to start splurging! First Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. It's not the cooler weather that makes us all a little more energetic. It's all that sugar.
