A new 'Texas Legend' has been added to the line-up at the Texas Rangers games in Arlington! Each home game in the middle of the sixth inning you can see either the traditional dot race or the 'Texas Legends' race. The Texas Legends began alternating games with the dots last season. Up until last weekend, the Texas Legends included the huge-headed Sam Houston, Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie and Nolan Ryan. This past weekend a new Legend was added and it's none other than Tyler's own Earl Campbell!

Foxsportssouthwest.com reports that Chuck Morgan, Rangers Executive VP in charge of ballpark entertainment and promotions, said:

We were talking about adding a guy and Nolan said he always wanted to beat Earl Campbell in a race."

It was appropriate to debut Earl this weekend during the Lonestar Series against the Houston Astro's. Earl raced Nolan around the warning track of Rangers Ballpark. Nolan won the race because Earl stopped in front of the real Nolan Ryan who was sitting in his usual spot just outside of the Rangers first base dugout. The fake Earl gave the real Nolan his Heisman Trophy pose and ended up losing the race to the fake Nolan. Judging by the crowd response, Ranger fans like the new addition to the Legends.

Chuck Morgan added "Next race I'll have Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie blocking, and Earl Campbell will win."
