The nation's largest one-day food drive is happening this Saturday, May 11th. The annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive is the second Saturday in May each year and is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers. In 2012 Americans donated 70.5 million pounds of food. Of that, nearly 78,000 pounds was collected right here in East Texas!

Dennis Cullinane, executive director of the East Texas Food Bank said:

Stamp Out Hunger is an easy and convenient way to help those in your community.
As one of the biggest food drives of the year, I encourage you to leave a sack of non‐perishable food by your mailbox to help feed our hungry neighbors.

To help, simply leave non-perishable food by your mailbox and letter carriers will collect the food during their Saturday deliveries.
