Derek Holland will be in a Texas Rangers uniform for at least the next five years. The Texas Rangers announced today that they signed the left hander to a five-year deal with club options for two additional seasons. The deal begins this season and means he will stay in a Rangers uniform at least through the 2016 season.

Holland, whose new deal is worth $28.5 million, went 16-5 with a 3.95 ERA last season for Texas, winning 12 of his final 13 decisions in his third year with the club.

He tied with Tampa Bay's James Shields for the American League lead in shutouts with four.
