Who in the world would think "goat cheese and cherry" ice cream is a good idea?  Not any East Texas ice cream shops.  Several shops around the country are gaining attention for their crazy ice cream flavors, and meanwhile, Texas keeps churning out tradition.

Fox News came up with 13 of the craziest ice cream flavors across the country, and some of them are doozies.

"Crazy" ice cream flavors to make the Fox News list:

Goat Cheese with Red Cherries: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams; multiple locations

Vanilla with Sweet Sriracha Sauce: Mason’s Creamery; Cleveland, Ohio

Dill Pickle: Dakota Drug Co.; Stanley, North Dakota

Ghost Pepper Peppermint: Mallard Ice Cream; Bellingham, Washington

Sweet Avocado Cayenne: Rococo Creamery; three locations in Maine

Does anything on that list look good?  I bet you're pondering that vanilla option with sweet sriracha.  Me too.  But something about sweet goat cheese is just hard to wrap our heads around.

Dairy Queen, anyone?  I'll take a Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Blizzard over the sweet goat cheese concoction any day.

Or the Brownie Batter ice cream at Braums, or that Pecan Pralines ice cream, or Peanut Butter with Snickers. Drizzle on some hot fudge and we're in heaven.

And don't even get us started on the Blue Bell!  They've got the new Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Dough flavor and we hear it's amazing.  But then aren't they all.

When it comes to ice cream, Texas doesn't get real frilly, unless you think cramming enormous chunks of candy bars and fudge into a half gallon with ripples of chocolate and caramel is frilly.  The rest of us in Texas call that "necessary."  And sometimes hunks of birthday cake are a nice touch too.

Thank you Blue Bell, DQ, and everyone that helps make summer in Texas better than it is anywhere else.
