The Texas Attorney General’s office has launched an investigation to find out what happened to $1.3 million from a Lon Morris College endowment fund.

According to the Jacksonville Daily Progress, the president of the college in Jacksonville, Dr. Miles McCall is being questioned about the missing funds, but the AGs office does not believe the money was stolen, just missing at this point.

The money was allotted for an endowment fund, but after Lon Morris College filed for bankruptcy the funds were to go to Sam Houston State University.

Hugh Ray III, the attorney for Lon Morris said they are taking the matter very seriously and are working together with the State Attorney General’s office and will take appropriate action once the investigation is complete.
