I saw this guy speak last year at the Texas Rangers Fanfest and thought it was pretty interesting. I never knew there was a special kind of mud that was rubbed on the balls prior to the game.  He also answered the question of how many baseballs do they go through during a typical game. As a baseball fan it was something I had often wondered.

Yesterday (February 22nd) Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland took some time out of spring training to shoot a television commercial for the Rangers. The commercial will debut in mid-March.

Breaking news on the sports front this afternoon from CBS Sports. They are reporting that the Detroit Tigers have come to an agreement with Prince Fielder on a nine-year deal, worth an estimated $214 million.

After weeks of speculation, CBS Sports is reporting that starting pitcher Yu Darvish will sign a six-year contract with the Texas Rangers before today's 4 p.m. deadline. Sources tell CBS Sports the deal is likely to be for more than $52 million.

The Texas Rangers have announced the plans for their 2012 Winter Caravan, and it includes at least one stop in East Texas!

As I reported back in November, Rangers Ballpark in Arlington is receiving some major updates and upgrades. The entire outfield area, including Vandergriff Plaza, visitor's bullpen and bleacher seats are getting a facelift. The $11.5 million project will be complete by opening day of this 2012 season.

News outlets nationwide are reporting that Albert Pujols will sign a 10-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels. The deal is reportedly worth between $250 & 260 million. News is also coming down within the last hour that the Angels have signed a deal with Texas Rangers lefty C.J. Wilson to pitch for 5 years and $77.5 million.

The Texas Rangers are busy making renovations to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The $11.5 million project will be completed in time for fans to enjoy it for the 2012 season.  The area under renovation is in center-field and includes the bleacher seats and basically everything in Vandergriff Plaza. If you are like me, you are still in a state of shock today after the roller coaster ride that was game 6 of the 2011 World Series.  Last night was supposed to be the night.  Rangers fans across the state were ready for it.  The Rangers were up three games to two and after having to wait a whole extra day for game 6 to be played, because of rain in St. Louis on Wednesday, it was time - OUR TIME! 

Last night the Texas Rangers evened the World Series at 1-1.  Their 9th inning comeback from a 1-0 deficit was an exciting time for Rangers fans.  It kept us on the edge of our seats until the very last out. More after the jump.

Last Monday night was a magical night for Rangers fans.  My son just turned 10 years old the first part of September.  We hadn't had a chance to throw a birthday party for him yet, so me an my wife decided to buy a pair of Rangers playoff tickets and take him to his first ever postseason game.  More after the jump.

The 2nd game of the ALCS was postponed Sunday due to rain.
