Drought conditions are continuing to worsen here in East Texas. The latest outlook from the United States Drought Monitor shows much of East Texas in a severe drought, while everyone is at least abnormally dry.
With the lack of rain in 2011, the result was extreme drought conditions and numerous wildfires across East Texas, including the Bear Creek Fire in September, the largest wildfire in East Texas History.
According to the National Weather Service the area has seen the second highest percentage total of rainfall during the months of January through May 2019.
