Radiohead Perform R.E.M.’s ‘The One I Love’

It’s no secret that R.E.M. have made a huge impact on the career of Radiohead. Their early ’90s sound reflected a lot on what Michael Stipe and Co. were doing at the time, and Radiohead singer Thom Yorke said Stipe personally called him to let him know R.E.M. were calling it a day last September. Over the weekend, Radiohead played tribute to the band with a live cover of the R.E.M. hit ‘The One I Love.’

R.E.M. Quickly Returns to the Studio for Its Next Album

Over the last 15 years or so, R.E.M. fans have grown accustomed to three-to-four-year waits between new albums -- but it looks like the band is speeding things up for its next release.

With its most recent album, 'Collapse Into Now,' a mere four months old, R.E.M. is already in an Athens, Georgia studio working on the follow-up -- and fans can follow their progress via a series of snapshots that singer Michael Stipe is posting along the way.

Favorite Album of the 90′s [VIDEO]

Gibson.com has just compiled a list of the best albums of the ‘90s and topping it is none other than Nirvana’s Nevermind. The site’s editors, writers and readers all voted and the 1991 record topped the list, followed by Radiohead’s OK Computer, U2’s Achtung Baby, Definitely Maybe by Oasis and R.E.M.’s Automatic for the People. Rounding out the top ten are Pearl Jam’s Ten, Metallica’s Metallica, Time out of Mind by Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley’s Grace and Radiohead’s The Bends. More after the jump.
