It's a Mother's Day weekend tradition with thousands of participants walking and running their way through the brick streets of the Azalea District of Tyler racing in hopes of finding a cure for breast cancer.

The Tyler Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is set for this Saturday in Downtown Tyler. You're invited to come show your support, and ladies are asked to make a 'Pinky Promise' to get your mammogram scheduled this year.

Each year thousands of East Texans converge upon Bergfeld Park in early May for the annual Komen Tyler Race For The Cure as they run, walk and sleep in to help find a cure for breast cancer. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the race here in Tyler.

There is a ton of stuff going on in East Texas this weekend. Unfortunately, mother nature doesn't seem to care. KLTV 7 Meteorologist, Grant Dade, says there will be widespread rain until Saturday afternoon. After that, the rainfall will become scattered until Sunday.
