A second season of Netflix's runaway hit adventure/horror/fantasy show Stranger Things was only just confirmed August 31, but already the Duffer Brothers are looking to fill in the beloved cast with some exciting newcomers.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Shawn Levy revealed that Season 2 will see the introduction of at least three fresh faces.

"There's definitely a handful of really compelling new characters this season, but absolutely servicing the core group first and foremost," he explained. "Like the show itself, [there will be] multi-generational new characters and really, really intriguing ones."

According to a cast breakdown obtained by the site, the show is currently seeking actors to play three characters named Max, Roman and Billy.

The Hollywood Reporter described Max as "a tough and confident 13-year-old [girl]... with a complicated history and a difficult relationship with her stepbrother, Billy." Max's brother, on the other hand, is a "muscular, overconfident 17-year-old. He's so captivating and edgy that there are rumors flying around that he killed someone at a school he attended in the past."

Meanwhile, Roman, who is in their 30s, is described as an "outsider who doesn't know how to connect with people."

"After growing up homeless with a drug-addicted mother, he or she suffered a great loss at an early age and has been seeking revenge ever since," writes The Hollywood Reporter.

The second season of Stranger Things will pick up nearly a year after the events of Season 1, in the fall of 1984, with the people of (fictional) Hawkins, Indiana dealing with the aftermath of the supernatural horrors unleashed by Dr. Brenner's experiments.

As for the original cast, many are expected to return for Season 2, though it's unclear if British actress Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the series, will be back. (Spoiler alert: She pretty much literally disintegrated in the final episode of Season 1.)

And while it's highly, highly unlikely fan favorite Barb will be resurrected from her grisly demise in the Upside Down long enough for a cameo, at least the Duffer Brothers have promised that the character will see justice in some shape or form.
