Stephen Colbert, in Rare Out-of-Character Moment, ‘It Gets Better’ Project [VIDEO]

Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central’s conservative news spoof ‘The Colbert Report,’ added his name to the long line of celebs and notables who’ve shot videos for Dan Savage’s It Gets Better project. The campaign’s goal is to let LGBT kids know that while they may be enduring taunts from bullies right now, life can and does get better.

What’s truly remarkable about Colbert’s piece is that he dropped his blowhard TV persona to do it. Colbert is famous for staying in character at all times, even when testifying before Congress, so it’s rare for him to appear on camera as just himself.
