I've written in the past of my love for Transformers. My excitement for those movies has always been huge.

However, I'm gonna have to admit that I'm more excited for the ultimate team up that is Avengers: Infinity War.

As a reader of comics, this has been a very exciting time. To see my favorite superheros brought to life on the big screen, on this scale, is something I never thought would ever happen.

There's been the individual franchises that have come to us, Spider Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Blade, Superman, Batman, but never in a connected story line similar to what you would see over a series of comic books.

Each movie, yes, has been it's own story but with small pieces of each interspersed into other character's films. Just like reading a comic book series.

Avengers: Infinity War is the first of a two part conclusion to this first era of Marvel movies. Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) are the veterans of this group. It is no secret that their contracts are done with Marvel after Avengers 4. Which means, we will see these characters either killed or ride off into the sunset in some form or fashion.

But new characters are being added and the Marvel cinema fun will continue. Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, Antman and Guardians of the Galaxy, among others, will keep things going.

And once the pieces of Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox fully comes through, the X-Men and Fantastic Four can (hopefully, crossing fingers, sending good juju) be added.

So, yeah, I'm excited. And so is everyone else. Ticket pre-sells for Avengers: Infinity War have out paced the last seven Marvel films combined. It's very possible it could break the all time weekend opening of $247 million set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Myself and Hot 1073 Jamz voice, Shawn Knight, have our tickets for the Thursday night, April 26, 7 P.M. showing at AMC in Tyler. Just a week away.

I'm ready, I'm sure you're ready, the showdown with the Mad Titan, Thanos, is about to commence. I'll see you at the theater.
