It looks like there will be another place for families to hang out this summer. According to the Longview News Journal, crews have started working on a 10,000 sq. foot splash park in Longview. The addition will be at Lear Park, with sprinklers, fountains, and many more fun things.

City spokesman Shawn Hara says Longview completed several park projects, using voter-approved bond money, for less than budgeted. City leaders are using some of the savings on the splash pad, with Longview’s share about $1 million. The Longview Economic Development Board and private donations also contributed. The splash park is set to open on June 22.
