Hiring a clown for a university functions is a little absurd — unless the clown is Slipknot percussionist M Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan. The musician, who didn’t graduate from college but has stated in interviews that he got his bachelor’s, masters and doctorate degrees in the University of Rock ‘n’ Roll, will present a lecture called ‘On Living Your Dreams,  Slipknot & Life’ this evening (Nov. 15) from 6-7 p.m. local time at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

The free seminar is being presented by the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition Music University and Drake University’s Entrepreneurship Program. While Clown specializes in talking in riddles and straying from topic to topic, the discussion will focus on turning imagining into reality, the cost and reward of success and motivating yourself while there’s still time.

To see Clown in action, go to Drake University’s Meredith Hall Room 101 today (Nov. 15) at 6 p.m. No balloon animals will be handed out.
