‘Nothing to Fear,’ the first horror movie to be produced by guitar god Slash via his newly launched Slasher Films banner, has seen its rights acquired by production and home entertainment company Anchor Bay.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news about the film’s pick up.

‘Nothing to Fear’ will fellow the trials and tribulations of a small-town family whose desire for a better life is “derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth,” so says Anchor Bay. That sounds ominous, evil, creepy and scary, doesn’t it?

The film is set in Stull, Kansas, which is rumored to be one of the seven gateways to hell. The cast is headed up by Anne Heche, James Tupper and Willa Holland.

‘Nothing to Fear’ is scheduled to start shooting in Louisiana next month. Slash is set to co-produce the film’s score, as well, so he is certainly hands on in this new endeavor.

“Anthony Leonardi’s vision of this story is exceptionally unnerving and dark,” Slash said about the film’s c0-producer. “It will keep you totally engaged from the first second of the film to the last. It’s guaranteed to scare the hell out of you.” We wouldn’t expect anything less from Slash’s first foray into the film world. Maybe he’ll have a cameo in ‘Nothing to Fear,’ too.

“We knew we wanted to work with Slash when he announced the formation of the label back in September at Toronto, and after having read this script, we are even more excited,” said Anchor Bay execs in a statement. “Anchor Bay Films is the perfect home for ‘Nothing to Fear.’”

Further details, such as plans for a theatrical and DVD release, have yet to be revealed.
