DirectTV’s show the ‘Guitar Center Sessions’ is setting the bar high with their first episode. Starring in the season kickoff, guitar superstar and recently crowned ‘Riff Lord’ Slash will perform an acoustic set with back-up support from Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators (Brent Fitz on drums and Todd Kerns on bass).

The set will include songs spanning Slash’s career from ‘Fall to Pieces’ hailing from his Velvet Revolver era to ‘Beggars & Hangers-On,’ a song written during his Slash’s Snakepit days. Check out clips of both performances below for a taste of what’s to in store.

The show, airing on May 19 at 8PM ET on DirectTV’s the Audience Network, will also feature a sit down interview with Slash and Myles Kennedy conducted by Nic Harcourt.

The program will provide a perfect introduction to ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ the new disc from Slash due out on May 22. Featuring Myles Kennedy on vocals as well as an integral part of the songwriting process, Slash recently weighed in on his latest solo project calling it “liberating” and a return to the fun he had back when Guns N’ Roses first started out.

Slash is currently out on the road through the summer, check out all the dates here.
