Velvet Revolver and ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has just confirmed that he has an arsenal of songs ready for his next solo album. Slash announced to his fans via Twitter and Facebook that he will have 18 full songs total in the can soon, with a handful of those being bonus tracks.

After the hiatus of hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, Slash ventured on to release his first solo album in March 2010. The self-titled record debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 and featured iconic musicians such as Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy and Guns N’ Roses ‘Appetite for Destruction’ era musicians Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler.

Most recently, Slash in the the process of recording his sophomore solo album, revealing, “Ok, 13 songs ready to record. 3 already done. 2 more to finish writing before Dec. [There will be] 12 on the record, 6 bonus trx, Woohoo! Iii|; )’” to his Twitter followers on Nov. 19.

Unlike his previous solo album, this disc will feature one lineup of musicians throughout, including Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy on vocals.

Slash also addressed his fans through a video on his official YouTube page. “All that comradery between the guys and that whole sort of chemistry of working together and putting in the time and really digging into the melodies — and I think on the finished record it’s going to show all that. I’m really f—ing excited.”

During an interview with BraveWords.com, Slash confirmed a likely April 2012 release for his forthcoming solo album. “We’re ahead of the game at this point, so we should be fine. If anything could possibly happen, it would be May, if there was any kind of hiccup.”
