Severe weather continued to make its presence known in East Texas on Memorial Day, sparking tornado warnings and watches, and leaving thousands without power.

Most of East Texas remains under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. tonight. Strong winds, hail, heavy rain and more has come through the area from the west. East Texas will be under a flash flood watch through Tuesday morning.

More than 20,000 East Texans are without power, with more than half of those in Jacksonville. About 7,000 people are powerless in Rusk County and 1,700 in Smith County.
