It is fall after all! Rain is to be expected this time of the year and more rain is in the forecast for East Texas and this time around it could be paired up with some severe weather, too.

This will all play out Thursday throughout East Texas. The National Weather Service has placed Anderson, Delta, Henderson, Hopkins, Hunt ,Kaufman and Rains counties under Flash Flood Watches effective Thursday morning at 7 a.m. to midnight.

Mark Scirto of KLTV 7 says we can expect a pretty good cold front to move through Thursday afternoon that will serve as a catalyst for thunderstorms, some of which could be severe producing large hail, damaging winds and lots of rain.

Most of East Texas is under a slight risk for thunderstorm development and flash flooding could potentially be an issue because the ground is already saturated from rains from the past couple of weekends.

In the event of severe weather, we will break normal programming and pick up storm coverage from KLTV 7 and the StormTracker 7 Weather Team.
