School Zones Active Again with Start of New School Year

Now that school is back in session, we'll be seeing those school zone lights flashing again after being dormant all summer long. For a lot of morning commuters that have school zones they cross through on their way to the office, they'll have to get used to slowing down again while in the school zone. Also, remember that if you're in a school zone you can't be on your cell phone or you could face a fine too.

After dropping off my daughter at school this morning, I witnessed a lady getting a ticket from a Tyler police officer. It served as a reminder for me and for a lot of other parents that were dropping their kids off for the second day of school to be mindful of their speed while in school zones and to stay off the phone.
