Sanderson Farms is in the process of building a poultry processing complex in Tyler, with plans to begin operations in early 2019.

With this comes 1,400 hourly positions up for grabs, and you can apply for them from Tuesday, July 17 through Thursday, July 19 at Tyler Junior College.

There will be "Sanderson Way Career Interest Sessions" that begin at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Skills Training Center on TJC's West Campus. In a press release, Sanderson Farms explains in part:

...job seekers can attend any one of the nine session times offered throughout the three-day period to learn more about the various career opportunities available with the company. Each session will last approximately three hours and will include a presentation highlighting key employment information such as pay rates, employment benefits, job responsibilities and pre-employment screening requirements.

In addition to the Tyler processing plant, the company is also building a new hatchery in Lindale and feed mill in Mineola.

Sanderson Farms is the third largest poultry producer in the nation with operations spanning five states and 16 different communities.
