NBC's Chicago Fire has booked some interesting guest stars for its Nov. 17 episode.

Series co-creators Michael Brandt and Derek Haas broke the news on Twitter, letting followers know that Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson would be appearing on the episode — which is titled "2112."

As the Rush Is a Band fan site pointed out, the title is most likely a reference to a fire safety code relating to flame-resistant gear for personal flash fire protection. Their post also points out that Lifeson is seen wearing a tour laminate in the above photo, which would seem to suggest that the band's scenes will somehow involve a concert.

Although Rush and Chicago Fire might seem like a slightly odd pairing, this kind of thing isn't without precedent — Black Sabbath fans may recall that the band played themselves in an episode of CSI, using the appearance as a way of debuting the first single from their 13 album.

Now in its fourth season, Chicago Fire has spent the past couple of years as a Top 50 show, and the group's cameo should offer a nice medium-sized promotional boost for their upcoming R40 Live set, which has already been teased with pre-release postings of "Roll the Bones," "Closer to the Heart" and "Spirit of Radio." And now that Rush are going to be on Chicago Fire, we look forward to the possibility of a Chicago appearance on the Canadian Mountie Hallmark Channel drama When Calls the Heart.
