Roger Waters hasn't issued new material since 1992's Amused To Death.

The 23-year gap between records has left many fans wondering if they'd ever hear anything new from the former Pink Floyd leader.  Yet, as Waters revealed to Yahoo Music, he's been outlining his next concept album.

"I’ve made an entire demo. I’m in a room with a guitar, the recordings and a pad and pen, shoveling things around and scribbling things down," he said. “It’s very exciting, but also challenging and scary. The difficult bit in any project like this is getting the first sketches and finding the basic shape of the thing.”

Waters also revealed that the theme for the next record will be "what's killing the children?" While he hasn't nailed down a timeline for release of the project yet, Roger says he's looking forward to the winter months as it will give him a chance hole up inside and just focus on the album.

“Now that winter is with us I’m finding myself making more and more. I have a little bit of time and I can go and attack this project," he said.

He also says that he envisions the record to be paired with an arena tour and he's writing with that in mind.

“I’m trying to figure out how to juggle all these new tunes with old tunes, as well as into a cohesive show that I can get bums into seats with," Waters said.

A new Roger Waters' documentary, Roger Waters: The Wall was released in September and is set for release on DVD on Nov. 16.
