The start of a new school year is just days away and with that bring the return of high school sports and activities.  Right now across East Texas many football programs are on the field practicing their plays that will hopefully take them to the state championship.  As the football teams prepare, so do the high school bands.  Tyler’s Robert E. Lee Red Raider Marching Band has been practicing for something special for a while.

The band will be putting on a march-a-thon this weekend to raise funds for their spring trip, banquet and competitive marching season.  You can see the Red Raider Band perform Saturday as they put on a parade and march around the neighborhoods of Hubbard Middle School and Rice Elementary from 8a to 12n.

You can check out their practice sessions this week by stopping by one of their practices at the high school located at 411 East Loop 323 behind the band hall between 8a and 4p.
