Rob Zombie Remix Collection ‘Mondo Sex Head’ Due in August

Rob Zombie may be working on a new album and trying to finish his ‘Lords of Salem’ movie, but another release will be coming before both.

The new compilation, ‘Mondo Sex Head,’ is a remix collection curated by DJ Jason Bentley and featuring a number of top musicians reworking the singer’s past favorites. It’s due Aug. 7.

The set is lead by KoRn‘s Jonathan ‘JDevil’ Davis, who offers the ‘Number of the Beast’ remix for White Zombie’s ‘Thunder Kiss ’65.’ Ki:Theory does double duty, reworking the songs ‘Foxy Foxy’ and ‘Pussy Liquor.” The Blood Beetroots serve up their ‘Motherf—er Remix’ of ‘Burn.’ Plus, the Chino Moreno project ††† (Crosses) deliver their take on ‘Dragula.’

Zombie himself chose the songs to be remixed, and gave his approval to the project. He added, “I like the idea of taking songs and reconfiguring them.” This will be the musician’s second remix collection, following 1996′s ‘Supersexy Swingin Sounds.’

Other acts taking part include Photek, Document One, Big Black Delta, Das Kaptial, Drumcorps, Kraddy, Tobias Enhus featuring the Jane Cornish String Quartet, and Griffin Boice.

Before the full album streets, there will be two separate digital-only EPs serviced featuring material taken from ‘Mondo Sex Head’ with exclusive bonus tracks.
