The murder trial of a retired dentist accused of killing his wife begins Monday in the 7th State District Court in Tyler.

76-year-old Bobby Ray Nichols has acknowledged shooting his 71-year-old wife Rosalind at their home on June 29, 2012.

He says he doesn't remember details of that night.

Police say an argument between the two led up to the fatal shooting. Investigators found Rosalind Nichols dead of two gunshot wounds in the couple’s home on Allen Street.

He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
