Every year, the Salvation Army in Tyler teams up with Chic-fil-A for their annual Soup Drive. In the past, when you purchase a bowl of soup at participating locations, a bowl of soup is donated to the Salvation Army. This year, Chic-fil-A has upped the ante by donating two bowls for every bowl purchased.

Here is the official press release from the Salvation Army.

Chick-Fil-A’s 2017 Soup Drive runs Wednesday, February 1st through Tuesday, February 14th at two of the Chick-Fil-A locations in Tyler. The community in Tyler will once again have the opportunity to keep the bowls of those in need filled with warm and tasty Chick-Fil-A soup—simply by purchasing Chick-Fil-A soup for themselves.
In the past, the Soup Drive has been one for one (buy a soup, give a soup). But this year, the soup drive is shorter in length and will be a buy one, give two soup deal! The public can think of their purchase as "Soup for Three" because when a warm bowl of delicious soup is ordered, Chick-Fil-A will donate two bowls of the same delicious soup to The Salvation Army in Tyler.

Chick-Fil-A graciously gives The Salvation Army enough bowls of soup to feed thousands of Tyler residents each year who may otherwise be unable to receive the food and nutrition they need. However, Chick-fil-A and The Salvation Army need the community's participation in order to make this year’s soup drive as successful as in the past. The Tyler community continues to be a tremendous blessing, meeting the needs of those in our own community through donations, volunteerism, goods and services, and, every winter through the charity of Chick-fil-A’s Soup Drive.

The two participating locations are:

  • Highlands Village Shopping Center on Troup Highway
  • Broadway Crossing Shopping Center on South Broadway in front of Best Buy and Lowe's

I also had the opportunity to talk with Lindsey Galabeas of the Salvation Army recently about the soup drive. Listen below.

Grab some soup for lunch during the two weeks and help do the most good.
