Paul McCartney Is Healthy and Ready For U.S. Tour

After a difficult spring that saw him postpone a month of concerts in the Far East and the United States due to health issues, Paul McCartney is ready to get back out on the road. Today (June 24) he released a brief video (embedded above) to let everybody that he's completely recovered.

"Everybody's been asking me how I feel," he says in what appears to be a rehearsal room or studio. "I feel great, thank you very much for asking., Hey, listen. This is just also a note to say that the dates that were postponed -- the concerts and the shows -- have been rescheduled for September and October. So come and see us then. We'll come and see you. Feeling great, rockin' and rollin' (plays air guitar). Yeah!"

Last month, Paul McCartney contracted an undisclosed virus on the eve of a tour of Japan and South Korea. What was initially expect to blow over quickly turned into something serious, and he spent several days in a Tokyo hospital. On doctor's orders, he postponed the first two weeks of his U.S. tour -- seven shows in all -- which was originally planned to start on June 14 in Lubbock, TX.

The tour will now begin July 5 in Albany, with the postponed dates moved to the end of the spell. It will include an Aug. 14 stop at San Francisco's Candlestick Park, nearly 48 years to the day of the Beatles' last-ever concert at the 'Stick on Aug. 29, 1966. The show will be the final event at the stadium before it is torn down. The new dates for the Far East concerts have yet to be announced.
