Thursday, the Tyler Traffic Safety Board made a recommendation that two portions of Old Noonday Road, Frankston Highway to Lake Placid Road and Frankston Highway North to Front Street, have the speed limit increased according to the Tyler Morning Telegraph.

The Tyler City Council will take a look at the recommendation in January and, if approved, the speed limit increase would be changed to 40 mph through those two segments.

The recommendation is based on a traffic study over a 72 hour period that counted 500 cars.

If approved, the change would happen that week by just changing out the speed limit signs in those two segments.

This is a reminder to drivers, this change has not taken place yet. Until the speed limit signs are changed, the current speed limit is still in effect.
