Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx appeared on CNN’s ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ on Wednesday (Feb. 15) to discuss Whitney Houston’s tragic death and how easily a celebrity can acquire prescription drugs.

Nikki Sixx’s battle with addiction has been well documented over the years, the rocker was even pronounced dead for two minutes before being revived during one particularly rough night in 1987. Having come out the other side of his addictions — Sixx has been sober for nearly a decade — the rocker is somewhat of an expert in the field now.

Piers Morgan made full use of Sixx’s knowledge on the subject when discussing celebrity addiction cases like that of Houston and Michael Jackson during last night’s interview on his CNN program. “If you’re getting different prescriptions from different doctors, there has to be some sort of check and balance in there somewhere,” Sixx told Morgan. “Where does the fault lie? I had to find the courage to turn my life around. I was just a slave to the system.”

As for Houston’s death, Nikki blasted her entourage, saying they enabled her addictions. ‘What’s scummy about the music industry is that everybody loves you when you’re dead,” he remarked, adding that her close associates should have been helping her battle her addictions when she was alive.
