Another restaurant in Tyler will be opening their doors soon and this one is right by my house, so I'm pretty excited. Oh, and they deliver - a huge plus in a city with limited delivery options.

With the popularity of GO Fish Modern Japanese Kitchen continuing to rise, another Asian Fusion specialty restaurant is popping up on Loop 323 just off of Kinsey Dr.

Taking the former space of Reggie's Diner, Chopstix will be ready to serve up Asian fusion on opening day, Tuesday, September 26. Bonus points: if you dine in on opening day, everyone will receive 50% off their order. That's a pretty good deal if you're looking for something new.

Some unique items to try are the build-your-own Asiaritto (Asian burrito!), rice and noodle bows, and salad bowls. Then there are the 'Tasty Bites' such as Asian Wonton Nachos and fried chicken bites with Sriracha Peanut Sauce.

Tyler Morning Paper earlier reported on the new restaurant and described the prices as 'designed to attract younger diners'.

One of the 12 owners, Gina Weng told the paper:

We priced it for what I would pay myself. I don’t want to spend $20 per person for a meal out. But I would pay $12 for good food. That’s reasonable.

And if you're an adventurous eater, they have a menu item that requires you to sign a waiver: it's called the Reaper Challenge.

You have to eat one of their signature Asiarittos, dubbed the Reaper-ritto - if you can finish it in under 5 minutes without a drink, you'll win a special t-shirt or a $15 voucher for your next meal. Tyler Paper lists the ingredients:

  • Grilled steak
  • Ghost pepper relish
  • Rice
  • Tomato
  • Fresh cucumber
  • Special Reaper hot sauce

Check it out! it's the newest spot to find your favorite local flavors in Tyler.
