Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx recently joined Chevy Metal, a cover band featuring vocalist / bassist Wiley Hodgden, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and My Ruin guitarist Mick Murphy, for a Malibu, Calif., gig on June 22. Sixx hopped onstage to play some surprise Crue tracks with the band, including 'Looks That Kill' and 'Livewire.'

Seeing Nikki Sixx perform in a small club is like stumbling upon Sasquatch riding a unicorn through the woods, so you can imagine the excitement and disbelief felt by the Malibu Inn crowd. Sixx is currently resting up between tours and relishing his time off, but out of a touring atmosphere, the Crue musician happily jumped back onstage for a short jam session.

Motley Crue are set to begin their second Las Vegas residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in September. "We are proud to have pioneered the Las Vegas rock residency last year and can't wait to come back this year to take it over the top with a brand new show that will be unlike anything you've ever seen Mötley Crüe do before," says Sixx.
