High school football is not done yet! Several East Texas high school football teams have one final game to play! Their season began way back in August with early morning practices in the Texas heat. They've played just about every Friday night since the school year began and playing in this game is what a lot of players have dreamed about all year long and since they've began playing the sport. Playing for the state championship title!

The first East Texas team looking to bring home that championship trophy from class 3A Division II will be the Waskom Wildcats. The Wildcats will be up against the Newton Eagles from deep East Texas Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m. at AT&T Stadium. The Wildcats are 14 and 1 on the season edging out Newton whose record is 12 and 3. Those are some great records but it all comes down to one game!

For the first time in the schools' history, the Mineola Yellowjackets are going for the class 3A Division I state title. The Yellowjackets are 12 and 3 on the season and will be facing the 11 and 4 Cameron Yoemen. This very important game to the Yellowjackets will be played Thursday evening at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Thursday evening at 8 p.m.

The final East Texas team vying for a state title are no strangers to this big dance, the Buckeyes from Gilmer have made the trip a few times and they are going into this all important game with a perfect record of 15 and 0 on the season. The Buckeyes are up against the 13 and 2 West Orange-Stark Mustangs Friday afternoon at noon at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. When the Buckeyes win (with all confidence), they'll bring the class 4A Division II state championship trophy home to East Texas!

We wish all of our teams the best during this most important game of the season and probably of their lives! Bring home those state championship titles!
