If you’re going out, go out big! That’s exactly what the season finale of ‘Saturday Night Live’ did with its musical guests (and farewell to cast member Kristen Wiig). Rock legend Mick Jagger served as ‘SNL’ host, but the Rolling Stones frontman brought along a few friends. The Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire and Jeff Beck made the evening a night to remember.

For his first ‘Saturday Night Live’ number with Arcade Fire, Jagger had an acapella group open the track ‘The Last Time,’ before he and the band joined in on the Rolling Stones classic. Arcade Fire’s husband and wife team of Win Butler and Regine Chassagne seemed to be having a good time backing up Jagger on vocals, and they would later return for the show’s final sketch.

The Foo Fighters got to rock out with Jagger on a medley of two Stones favorite — ’19th Nervous Breakdown’ and ‘It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It).’ On the latter portion of the song, Chris Shiflett took the lead with some nifty guitar licks, while Dave Grohl provided backing vocals throughout the performance.

The evening’s third musical performance featured fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Beck, who joined Jagger for a new song. The vocalist told the audience that he started off as a blues man and wrote a track about the presidential election, and he asked Beck to join him. The song, ‘Tea Party,’ then showed exactly the prowess that made both musicians icons.

But the most touching performance of the evening came at the end in a sketch-turned-musical number as Jagger appeared as a headmaster preparing to graduate one of his students, Kristen Wiig. He shared a dance with her as Win Butler and Regine Chassagne returned to lead a medley of the Rolling Stones’ ‘She’s Like a Rainbow’ and ‘Ruby Tuesday’ while the entire cast took turns dancing and singing with Wiig.
