Metallica have finished their Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct album. Now comes the promotion in the lead-up to the release. And that will include a trip to late night as the band has announced that they'll perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Sept. 29.

No other details have been revealed about the performance or the other guests for the evening, but the band currently has a hit single on their hands with the song "Hardwired," which will need a bit of a language edit to get past TV standards. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs at 11:35PM ET/PT on NBC.

Metallica are no strangers to late night, most recently spending a weeklong residency on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson as the talk host was nearing the end of his show's run. They've also recently campaigned for a spot as the music guests on Saturday Night Live's upcoming season.

The band's Hardwired ... To Self Destruct album is due Nov. 18 via their own Blackened Recordings label. Metallica have a handful of dates booked for the rest of the year. See their scheduled shows here.
