The Longview Lobos are on a serious roll.  They've been mowing down opponents for almost four months, and now they're taking a perfect 15-0 record into the state title game this weekend.

The Lobos haven't been behind much this season, but they were in the very first game against Lufkin.  The Panthers scored first in the game August 31st and took a 14 to 10 lead into halftime, but they couldn't hold the lead and the Lobos came back to win the game 35 to 27.

In most of their games this season the Lobos scored 50 or 60 points and won by wide margins.  Tyler Lee, Marshall, and John Tyler were all on the losing end of games against Longview during the regular season, but you might say those teams helped Longview fine-tune the game plan before the state title game and set them on a course for success.  You're welcome, Lobos.  If you're a supporter of one of the other teams, will you cheer for Longview this weekend?  They are representing East Texas and all.

After a semi-final win last Saturday, the Lobos will face Beaumont West Brook at AT&T Stadium at 3 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 22 for the state championship. The Longview Journal said the Lobos met West Brook in the opening round of the playoffs in 2016 and 2017 and lost 34-33 in Beaumont in 2016 and won 42-21 in Longview last season.  The Lobos played in back-to-back state title games in 2008 and 2009, and this will be their first trip back to the championship game since then.

Good luck Lobos!  We know you'll do East Texas proud.

And we can't wait for more high school football with all of our East Texas teams next August.
