One thing I learned about Texas already is that they are known for BBQ, the Cowboys, SNAKES (from last week), and roses.  However, to my surprise Texas is also known for wine and Texans take their wine serious.

I’m starting to love Texas already because I have a deep admiration for wine and I have a glass on the regular.  Whether I’m having some salmon w/ lemon sauce partnered with a glass of chardonnay - or, if I want to showcase my cooking while I’m on a date I’ll have sweet red wine if I just so happen to prepare pasta for the evening.

Messina Hof Winery in Bryan, Texas is a family owned business built on the three cornerstones of family, tradition, and romance.  The owners Paul and Merrill Bonarrigo, got married and settled in Bryan, Texas and together they would reintroduce the concept of wine making that goes back to the 1800's and became wine pioneers of the Texas wine industry having established Messina Hof as the 4th winery in the state.

Messina Hof Winery is celebrating 40 years in Texas wine and if you are a lover of red wine they have a 40th Anniversary Limited Edition 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon for release.  This wine is filled with the fragrance of blackberry, cassis, eucalyptus, poblano pepper, flavors of cocoa powder, vanilla and coffee and I can’t wait to try it!!!!!

So, on your next road trip make Messina Hof Winery on your list of things to do this summer.  They have locations in Bryan, TX. 4545 Old Reliance Road, and Grapevine, TX. 201 S. Main St.
