Deep Purple’s Jon Lord Dies at 71 Years Old
One of the founding members of the legendary rock group Deep Purple, keyboardist Jon Lord, has died. Lord died today (July 16) after suffering a pulmonary embolism. He was 71 years old.
Lord played with Deep Purple from 1967 to 2002 and co-wrote many of their classic hits including ‘Smoke of the Water,’ ‘Highway Star’ and ‘Woman from Tokyo.’ He also played with Whitesnake from 1978 to 1984.
