CBS Sports is reporting today that sources have told Randy Galloway of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan could soon leave the organization. The Rangers announced over the weekend that they have restructured the front office, moving Jon Daniels to president of baseball operations/GM and Rick George to president of business operations.

Nolan's title remains as CEO, but all reports are that Daniels has the final say over all baseball decisions and that George has final ruling over all business decisions.

Ryan has three years remaining on his contract and Rangers co-owner Bob Simpson denies that Nolan's role with the team is being minimized.

Experts in the sports world agree, it would be tough for Nolan's pride to stay on board  after being forced to cede power to Daniels. They say if all this is true we could see Nolan exit as soon as the end of spring training.

As a Rangers fan, this breaks my heart. Nolan has been the heart and soul of this franchise for a long time. Surely there is more to the story than this? I'll let you know as soon as more information becomes available.
