The news of the hack of AshleyMadison.com has been all over the news lately.

Government employees, school employees, average Joes -- the registered users were everywhere. Canadian police now believe that two suicides are connected to the hack.

But what about right here at home? How many people in East Texas were signed up on the popular cheating website?

Tecnilogica created an interactive map that shows how many users were registered in every city or town in America. It also shows the comparison of users who were male and female, with more than 85 percent of Ashley Madison users being male.

When you take a look at some of the bigger (and even small) towns in East Texas, it can be pretty surprising. Here's a look at a few:

  • Tyler: 9,009 users
  • Longview: 8,910 users
  • Marshall: 4,832 users
  • Kilgore: 1,266 users
  • Whitehouse: 758 users
  • Lufkin: 2,965 users

When you take a look at some of the smaller towns, it's pretty surprising at how much of the population was signed up on the site. Some of the towns were as high as 20 percent.

Ashley Madison, whose motto is "Life is Short, Have an Affair," has since announced a $500,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the hackers who obtained all the data, which included personal information such as email addresses, credit card numbers and more.

Are you surprised by how many registered users there were in East Texas?
