Two people were airlifted to hospitals after a house in Waxahachie exploded Monday morning (Sept. 21).

NBC DFW reported the home exploded and caught fire, causing damage to nine other homes. It happened about 8 a.m. Monday morning on the 100 block of Arabian Road in Waxahachie, just south of Dallas.

Three other people were treated on the scene for minor injuries. There is no word yet on the cause of the explosion or the condition of the two people care-flighted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

Ten surrounding homes were evacuated and gas was cut off to the entire neighborhood, according to CBS DFW. One Waxahachie resident told WFAA she felt the explosion more than 10 miles away.

As you can see, not much of the home is left after the explosion -- only some of the wood frame. A house next to the leveled home had many windows blown out.
